Qatargas Operating Company has exciting opportunities available for qualified professionals to join our company in the development of the vast North Field in Qatar. Qatargas currently has under development over $20 billion worth of major projects, including the construction of four new Liquefied Natural Gas trains for the production and export of LNG to every corner of the globe.
Manager Plant Engineering Support
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and supervising 52 specialists, you will be responsible for the technical support to the existing and new facilities, covering process, facilities, discipline, instrument & electrical engineering activities. The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering and 10-12 years experience in operating plant facilities, solving process and equipment problems and project process development experience in the gas processing and LNG industry. Experience with troubleshooting, process simulation, P&ID development, conceptual and detailed design, including exposure to other than process engineering disciplines are essential. Must be conversant with use of process simulation and design packages and in the development of equipment process specifications. Must have a minimum of 4 years of management experience at Section Head level and excellent written and spoken English.
Lead Discipline Engineer
To provide technical support to plant operations & maintenance as well as for internal project development in their respective engineering disciplines. Candidate should have knowledge of other discipline engineering areas, enabling to lead the team and steer the activities. Candidate should hold a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, capable of leading a team of various discipline engineers, covering Mechanical, Piping, Rotating Equipment, Civil and Structural Engineering. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 12 years experience in Oil & Gas engineering field and managerial/supervisory experience.
Rotating Equipment Engineer – OPCO
To analyzes existing or proposed rotating equipment and turbo-machinery including systems for onshore plant and offshore production facilities and review engineering design work connected with minor or major projects, for modifications to the existing facilities or installation of new rotating equipment. To study and analyze complex or recurring problems relating to rotating equipment recommending appropriate solutions. Responsible for shop and field test, start-up or overhaul procedures, QA/QC on rotating equipment, troubleshooting, reliability improvement review, maintains and updates equipment drawings, standards, procedures and specifications. The successful candidate should have University degree in Mechanical Engineering, 10 year’s experience in design and maintenance of rotating equipment with at least 5 year’s in the petroleum/ gas processing plant. Must have experience with one or more of Frame 5, 7, 9 turbines and their use live compressor drivers. Cryogenic pumping experience would be an advantage, preferably in LNG. While design office experience is beneficial, a plant operating background is essential. Good written and spoken English.
Loss Prevention Engineer
Responsible for technical HSE support for corporate LNG projects. The successful candidate should have a degree in a technical subject, preferably Chemical or Safety Engineering, an Oil and Gas operational background and at least 5 years experience of Hazops (Hazard and Operability studies), Hazids (Hazard Identification studies), QRA’s (Quantified Risk Assessments), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments review, fault trees, failure modes effects analysis. Good written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
Facilities Engineer
To analyze process, utilities, storage and other support systems for the off-shore production facilities and onshore plant. To prepare or review design work connected with multi-disciplinary projects, modifications and alternations to existing or new systems. To investigate plant technical issues and provide expert technical advice to management and other departments/divisions, particularly on the subjects of piping, valves, actuators, fittings, heaters, coolers, exchangers, filters, flares, vessels, nozzles and tanks. To work with other specialist discipline engineers in the maintenance and updating of engineering drawings, standards, specifications, manual, and data books. Candidate should have an Engineering degree and a broad knowledge of various engineering areas. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 8 years experience including 4 years of multi disciplinary project experience.
Piping Engineer
To provide technical advice to management and other departments/divisions on the subjects of piping, valves, actuators, and static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers and storage tanks. Responsible for the technical integrity of all piping systems including cryogenic systems, particularly relating to pipe stress analysis, pipe supports and piping system over pressure protection (surge analysis) and overall safety of systems. The successful candidate should have a degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering and minimum 10 years experience in troubleshooting, production and processing equipment in the Oil and Gas industry and in a multi-discipline project environment. Good written and spoken English is required.
Process Engineer
To perform engineering duties designed to support gas processing activities, including optimization of facilities according to long term plans and shipping contracts. Responsible for daily performance summaries and for initiating process studies for major and minor field modifications for the existing facilities in the plant, liaising with Plant Maintenance and Technical personnel. To monitor equipment performance and to prepare cost estimates for future investments. The successful candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent and minimum 8 years in process engineering or process supervisory experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in LNG production. Good written and spoken English is essential.
